New Shoes
Last week, the London Marathon shop were having a day with a New Balance fitting specialist, so since I have not had my feet measured and checked for years, I decided it was a good opportunity to go and buy some new shoes.
I am sure some people will tell me off, but because shoes are expensive, I try and put off buying a new pair until I desperately need them. There are benefits to this, though, because when you get a new pair, you really appreciate them since they feel like slippers in comparison to the old ones.
After a good week running last week, I had a tough, but nonetheless important 10 mile run on Saturday. I have decided that I also need to be training my body to drink fluid along the way, so I have bought some bottles of Lucozade which I will go and post in the hedges along my route for Saturday's run. It is a bit of challenge training for a marathon when you don't have kind volunteers to hand you water every mile and lucozade every 5 miles. That said, hopefully having this additional help will make the day marginally easier.
So this week, I will aim to run another 3 times before Saturday and perhaps aim for a 13 mile run which takes me back up to the half marathon mark.
I'll let you know how I get on.
Thanks for the prayer and financial support, I need both.
