 The South African office, founded in 1984, is strategic in its outreach to many African nations. Isabel Surgeon, along with her team, oversees seven translation projects, including Malagasy (Madagascar) and Afrikaans. Portuguese material is also provided for Madagascar, Mauritius and the Reunion Islands, all off the east coast of Africa. There have even been opportunities for outreach to Russian sailors and Chinese believers in Pretoria using our translated material. Derek's radio programme in English, which began in 1993, is now airing on 14 satellite radio stations in southern Africa, reaching as far as West Africa, Malawi, Swaziland and Madagascar. Outreach also includes ministry teams to neighboring countries, prison work, programmes airing on a new satellite TV station (South Africa TV), and distribution of material to libraries, bookstores, churches, and conferences. There have even been opportunities to minister to Russian sailors and Chinese believers in Pretoria using our translated material.
