This is the shared dream of millions of believers in China, many of whom have come to faith through the witness of friends or family members, or through listening to radio programmes and reading Christian literature.
It is the heart’s desire of Chinese believers like Geng, whose testimony you can read in the next page. His life was shattered by a childhood accident and conflicts between his parents. Amidst the suffering and trials, he found Christ. And like thousands upon thousands of Chinese believers, he longs to know the Lord better and is eager to share the Good News with others.

Equipping believers like Geng to grow in their faith is also the vision of Chinese pastors I meet during my regular visits to China. What is amazing is that on average 20,000 people become Christians in China on a daily basis. And they join churches where teaching materials are scarce.
“Our pastors and elders desperately need good foundational teaching materials,” - said one of the key leaders of a house church network in the far northern part of China. “Can you send us some copies of the Foundation Series?” “Some,” in this case, means 100,000!
When I listen to the testimonies of how the leaders and their congregations have been helped by Derek’s teaching, my heart reaches out to them and I want to do all I can to equip and encourage them. That is why I am writing to you today. I am seeking your help because I believe that together we can turn the dreams of believers and church leaders into reality by making DPM foundational teaching materials available to them.
Our target in 2007 is to print and distribute over 160,000 resource packs containing: Self-Study Bible Course, Foundation Series and Faith to Live By. These are the most sought after resources by Chinese leaders and believers seeking to grow spiritually themselves and helping others to do the same.
Please read on to find out how God is impacting lives in China through DPM and how you can make a real difference through your gifts and prayers.
