TAX Efficient Giving to DPM

Tax recovery on all donations

Tax paid on any donations you make to DPM can be recovered, subject to you making a declaration confirming that you are a taxpayer. The rules introduced from April 2000 effectively meant an end to the deed of covenant as a vehicle for charitable giving, and allows for claiming up to 6 years retrospectively.

For example if you give £100, we are able to recover a further £28.21, making the total value of your gift £128.21.

Despite the government decreasing the basic tax rate to 20%, they have elected to pay the difference between 20% and 22% (the old basic tax rate) for the next three years as an interim relief to charities.

Gift Declaration

The requirments for a certificate to be signed by the donor, for each qualifying gift, has been removed. The new arrangement allows for a simple declaration to be made in writing (by post, fax or electronically through the internet) or verbally (over the telephone). The declaration can apply to a single specific gift, but can also cover all future giving. Please complete and submit the form below, to enable us to recover the tax on your giving. Alternatively you may phone us to make a declaration, or download the form in PDF.
