This message caught my eye, with me thinking I don't really know the answer to the question. Anyway, Derek presents a clear message on what is truth that really gets you thinking and pin points what the truth is and how not to be deceived.

I particularly like his definition of truth being in the person of Jesus and not some abstract theory. Also that truth has 3 co-ordinates, 1) the Person of Jesus, 2) the Scripture 3) the supernatural attestation of the Holy Spirit. These 3 have to be present for the truth to be experienced. He went on to say some preachers may only present 2 co-ordinates and therefore fail to present the truth.

What also came strongly to me in this message was the importance of depending on the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth. Derek said the Holy Spirit is the great interpreter of Jesus and the Scripture. We also need the H/S to remember the words of Jesus - we can't rely on our natural memory (a bit of a revelation for me).

Finally, Derek touches on the fact that there can be no neutrality when responding to the truth - you either accept it or reject it, the main reason for rejecting truth is that we delight wickedness and know that God's truth will stop us sinning.

I thoroughly recommend you listen to this message. I listened to it twice and got a lot from it. There are lots of little gems in there. It's definitely a message to keep you from error in your Christian walk.
