Bringing hope in Syria
For over seven years now, a terrible war is destroying Syria. Thousands of people have been killed. Millions have fled. A generation is growing up in the midst of ruins and bombs, without ever having known peace. Is there any hope for this country?
Since last year, DPM is joining forces with a ministry that travels to Syria to deliver aid goods, like blankets, sheets, food and medication. And: God’s message of love in Christ and hope for the future. They share Bibles and SD-cards with Derek’s Bible teaching.
Today, we received a message from Damascus. It was sent by a Syrian lady. She wrote:
First, I want to thank you for all the food supplies, it really came on time, God knows how hard the situation is here and it felt like Jesus sent you in this tough time.
I want to thank you also for all the sermons on SD-cards. I gave some cards to 18 years old orphans. They had never heard any Bible teaching similar to this. They are used to hearing the Orthodox church traditions. They live in an orphanage, and they benefited from these cards very much.
Also, I want to thank you for your encouraging spiritual talk and speech in a time where evil is taking over in the world. Through you there was heavenly peace in my home! My husband was touched by God while listening to the sermons, especially now he lost his job and he’s in a bad psychological state. I kept the SD-card's teaching playing on the device, and the sermons encouraged him again very much.
Syria needs help – material help, yes. But the people also need hope. The only true source of hope is God Himself. Thank you for all your prayers and donations that have made it possible for us to bring that hope to Syria.
