Russia: How a clown is using Derek Prince's materials!

Derek Prince had a vision to 'reach the unreached and teach the untaught' with the Gospel. Today, Derek's Bible study materials are being used by many pastors, cell groups and evangelists worldwide. Small booklets like The Divine exchange and Extravagant love are powerful tools to explain what Jesus Christ has done. These books have been translated into over 100 languages.

One of the people using Derek's materials for outreach purposes is German, a travelling evangelist from Estonia. During his outreach trips, German teaches from Derek's materials and distributes Derek's books. He sometimes distributes aid goods (like clothes and food). And sometimes... he's acting like a clown!

Last month, German took his team to the city of Ust-Luga, in the region of Leningrad (Russia). They also did tent evangelism in the nearby village of Folileevo. German wrote:
"We joined forces with a local church. Despite the new laws in Russia, we boldly preached, Adults received the Bible as a gift but there were many children also. For them, we had prepared a clown act. The children enjoyed it very much and that joy opened their hearts for the message of God's love."

After the service, one family asked German not to leave them but to continue his messages. Now, the local pastor has the opportunity to meet them and continue working in this area.

We thank God for people like German, who share God's passion to reach out to people with His love. Join us in prayer for:

  • the local leaders in the area of Ust-Luga and Folileevo
  • the Russian government, for less strict laws in religious affairs
  • German and his team
  • the children and adults that have been reached with the Gospel.
